In the Words of Max

It's so fun to spend time with Max and he's getting more entertaining by the day! Here are a few of the funny things he's been saying:
It's going to be a bid day!
When I go to his room when he wakes up from a nap he says well hi there mommy, I'm so glad you're here
Mommy, you are an awesome girl (melt my heart!)
Help, help I'm stuck and then he proceeds to say it in Spanish
This is belicious (delicious)
Well, my Mamaw would do it
He loves to shake hands and say nice to meet you

Trip to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas

One day we rented a boat and went out on the lake. I haven't been a lake in a long time and I was a little nervous to let me husband pull me on the tube! I decided I would go first and once I finally got Joseph to understand that no, I didn't want to go as fast as the boat would go, I was able to relax and have fun. One of the best days we were there!!

You better hold on tight Jonathan!

I'm not sure how he did it, but Joseph manage not to fall off during this turn!

Fairfield Bay was a quaint little town tucked away in the mountains. It clearly runs on tourism and it reminded me of a place like the one on Dirty Dancing. On Monday they had a meeting and they went over all the activities you could do throughout the week and what you could find in the surrounding towns. In the middle of the week we enjoyed a puppet show. Even Jonathan participated and sang the songs.

First Jarie and I rode this at Silver Dollar City with Max thinking he would love it and we wouldn't get that wet. Well, we got one of those things right, Max did love the ride! The next time he wanted to ride it we let the guys take him.

We went golfing on the first day we were there (I say we, but that really means Joseph & Jonathan). The course was beautiful and fun to watch the guys "golf".

Big Helper

Max loves to help his Dad and Pawpaw. He's always in the middle of the action saying "helper".

My friend Timber

One of the reasons Max loves going to see his Mamaw and Pawpaw is because he gets to visit his friend Timber, the squirrel. He talks about Timber all the time and tries to call him when he's at home in our backyard. He yells out his name and tries to click his tongue like Mamaw, so cute! Cindy (Mamaw) rescued this squirrel during Hurricane Ike and he now lives in her backyard. He comes by to gets some nuts and say hi, which Max thinks is the greatest thing in the world.

1st Haircut

This was Max before we got his haircut...it's amazing how adorable you think your own kid is and little did you know they REALLY needed a haircut :). I didn't realize he could be even more precious with big boy hair!

He's watching his favorite, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, while he's driving the fire truck. At one point he got really excited and was bouncing up and down....so his hair is a little uneven in the back because of all the excitement.

Done with his haircut and looking good!!

Ruidoso, NM

This was the beautiful house we stay at in Ruidoso, New Mexico with all of my family. We had such a great time catching up and laughing!
This was our view from the deck on our last night there.

Max loving on his Dad before the horse race started. He enjoyed watching the long races because the horses were farther away. He wasn't real crazy about having the horses zoom right past him and fling dirt his direction.

Jase, Max and Jonathan got in the bathtub because Gram wanted a picture of all her boys in it. It was a little hard to get a 3 year old and a 1 year old to stay still long enough to get a good picture.

Max loved exploring around the house where we were staying. He especially loved all the rocks and sticks ( in his words, rockies and stickies).

Max had fun hanging out with Jonathan at the horse races! I think Jonathan won the most money...we teach them young in my family :)

I LOVE summer!!

We are having so much fun outside this summer! Max would stay out there ALL day if we would let him. He cries when it's time to come in and the only way we can actually get him even a little bit interested in coming in the house is to tell him he's taking a bath. He goes from the cool water outside to the warm water inside. I think we have a little fish :)

New Sandbox

Mamaw got Max a new sandbox! It's the same kind we had as a kid...a green turtle with a shell that's a lid. Max's favorite thing to do right now is to get in the pool and then go roll around in the sand. Did I mention that the sand is purple? Yes, Mamaw found purple sand and Max is loving every single piece of it!

New Pool

This is the pool Max started off with...a small pool just his size.
Dad was not satisfied with that pool so he had to get the very best pool Max could have. Of course we love the new improved one much better and we're enjoying our time together outside!

Help! I'm stuck!

I couldn't resist putting this picture up because it's priceless! Max has learned to take out these drawers and loves to take every single one of them out each day. He accidentally fell in one and he wasn't amused....he hasn't messed with the drawers since!

Max & Mickey

Max has been obsessed over Mickey lately so Joseph and I bought him some Mickey Mouse pajamas when we were at Target. I showed them to him last and he got SO excited! He ran all around the house screaming Mickey, Mickey, Mickey and he refused to put them down. Since he was so excited about the pajamas we decided it was time to go on an adventure to find a toy Mickey (we've been looking). We discovered there was a Disney store at the mall by our house so we packed up Max and his pajamas- he wasn't going anywhere without them. We picked out the perfect Mickey Mouse and Max has now turned in his pjs for the real deal. The pictures capture our fun Mickey adventure. I can't wait to take him to Disney World one day...I hope he still loves Mickey as much then!

Okie the Horse

While we were at Mamaw & Pawpaw's we went next door and met Okie the horse. Max loves animals and it's so fun to watch him learn about the world around him. He's learning to say all the names of the animals and it's so cute because he adds a long eeeeee at the end of everything. All day we heard horseeeee and duckyyyyy. So cute!

Driving Mamaw & Pawpaw's Boat

The day before Mother's Day we went out to Mamaw & Pawpaw's house. Max loves going out there because they have so much land for him to play on and not to mention all the animals (dogs, cat, squirrel and duck). This was the first time we've put him on the boat and he LOVED it!

Happy 1st Birthday Max!!

I was worried that Max wouldn't eat the cake because he's never really been big on sweet foods, but I had nothing to be worried about! He dug right into the cake and loved it!
Aunt Melanie made this amazing cake for Max's 1st birthday party to go with the theme "I dig being 1".

Discovered the Pots & Pans

Max has opened almost all the cabinets in the house, but for some reason he hadn't found the ones in our kitchen (probably because he's more interested in the dog's water bowel). This week he finally discovered the kitchen cabinets and was thrilled to find the pots and pans! How can you deny a face like this?

My Girlfriend Isabella

Max was very interested in Isabella's hair (probably because she has a lot more than him). We're going to have to teach him that it's not cool to mess with a girl's hair. We're so grateful to have great friends like Billy and Janelle in our lives!

What??!

While I was getting dressed my little man got very quiet, which usually means he's getting into something. I knew he wasn't far and I found him in the bathroom behind the shower curtain, the only thing I could see were his feet. I ran to get the camera and I came back he heard me and peeked around the corner. I love moments like this when you can catch them learning and discovering new things. He definitely likes the shower curtain. You can tell by the next two pictures....he wanted to pull it everywhere he went.
